On the island of Hawaii in the central Pacific has been long rumored existence of a bright orange mushrooms with peculiar properties.
Only found growing in recent lava flows of about 600-10 thousand years old, this variety of mushroom has a reputation as a powerful aphrodisiac when women smell.
Researchers visited the island and conducted an experiment with 16 women and 16 men; six women experienced an orgasm smelling spores and the rest felt minor changes as increased heart rate.
But the men say they have not experienced any symptoms after smelling fungus also, they said, it has a foul smell.
The hypothesis suggests that the fungal spores released "hormone-like compounds" and some neurotransmitters that the brain releases during sexual encounters.
