Zika Virus Alert About Education

The education minister called Monday the entire educational community to enable the School Committees Risk Management and follow the guidance of the Ministry of Public Health to the threat in the country of Zika virus.
Carlos Amarante Baret said returning from Christmas break is necessary in all educational loscentros these guidelines are promoted and prevention practices socialized to ensure its implementation within the framework of the campaign.
"We must take all necessary precautionary measures to prevent its occurrence in the country and our community," said the minister in Circular No. 13-2015, released Monday.
The Zika virus is a disease spread by the bite of a mosquito. It manifests with mild fever, headache and rash.
Amarante Baret said it is imperative to eliminate mosquito breeding, avoiding the accumulation of stagnant water, use mosquito nets to sleep, maintain hygiene and see a doctor if any of these symptoms.
